Job Description

This position is responsible for or overseeing and monitoring the Accounts Payable function, to include managing and developing staff, building key relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring compliance and driving department efficiencies and automation. In addition, you will function as a project lead on new initiatives and cover a variety of general accounting functions such as journal entry and account reconciliation.

  



Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise AP processing of invoices, check requests, and expense reports
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate Accounts Payable staff
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments through obtaining proper and approved invoices, backup information and lien releases.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Review and approve cash disbursements including check, credit card and ach payments
  • Manage vendor statement review and resolution of vendor discrepancies
  • Manage expense reporting process including setup of new vendors
  • Act as a resource for vendors issues and internal questions from management team
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures for the Accounts Payable processes, including analysis of key controls
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and projects to improve efficiencies
  • Act as a key role and leader for department projects
  • Perform AP month end closing task
  • Coordinate Year End 1099 processing
  • Assist with other projects as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Requirements

  

  • Accounting/Finance degree preferred
  • 5+ years Accounts Payable experience
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Great Plains experience preferred
  • Document imaging/workflow experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Detail oriented while remaining cognizant of the big picture
  • Effective at driving change and managing teams to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with all levels of individuals inside and outside the company
  • Excellent time management and organization skills including ability to prioritize own work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively coordinate multiple tasks
  • Proficient 10-key and typing skills.
