Credit One Bank, N.A. has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary performs a wide variety of administrative and staff support services to relieve managers in the General Counsel and Compliance departments of administrative details. Duties may be complex and confidential in nature and involve sensitive information or application.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Accurate, timely completion of assigned duties
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Constant use of tact, discretion, and good judgment
  • Exercises independent discretion in contacting bank personnel at all organizational levels to gather information and fulfill assignments.
  • Manages multiple calendars, resolving scheduling conflicts on own initiative as needed
  • Arranges meetings and departmental events, which may include securing venue, ordering/setting up catering, and managing communication to department employees
  • Processes expense claims, opens and distributes mail, and prepares and drops off overnight packages, which may require driving to pick-up locations
  • Arranges travel; is comfortable working across time zones
  • Helps onboard new department employees by ensuring desk setup and access to systems is in place
  • Opening new electronic case files for disputes, litigations, arbitrations, etc.
  • Organize, index and track files via internal databases
  • Data entry, assembles and analyzes information, prepares reports and spreadsheets, manuals, agendas, correspondence and memoranda. Corrects, edits, and rephrases as necessary to ensure that the final copy conveys the intended meaning and is correct in detail
  • Maintains and organizes departmental records and files in area of responsibility to ensure efficient access
  • Answers telephone calls, tactfully handles inquiries, and greets visitors
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately, under pressure and with great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat a plus

Position Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of legal principles, research techniques, and legal terminology required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Relevant computer knowledge and experience, including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated and strong analytical, communication, organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • A positive attitude and attention to detail and accuracy is imperative.
  • 4-year college degree is required.
  • 5 or more years’ related experience, preferably in a law firm or as an assistant to a senior corporate legal executive.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.
  • Minimum typing speed of 50-55 wpm with accuracy.  
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and manage conflicting priorities.
